seller has responded - item is in transit

Just looking for opinions. I had a back and forth with a seller last weekend on the boards, and he responded very quickly to pm's back and forth. Since sending him the paypal payment last weekend, i have not heard back to him on the 2 PM's i have sent him. The first was to make sure he got my payment as he had told me he never sent a paypal payment request prior to mine. The second was a few days later asking the same and asking when he might ship the item. I again sent him a PM stating that I will wait through the weekend for a reply or for the item to arrive and after that i will open a paypal claim. Am i wrong at this point? The concerning part to me is that he was so responsive during the transaction, but now no replies at all....

No, you have every right to be concerned, sounds like you dealt with
someone that is not well known to these boards.

You can see at PP if the transfer has been accepted, have you done that yet?

    Good luck.
    Good for you.

I'd at least let a week go by before you hit the panic button.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • I always get a phone number. That way if they steal from me I would get my money's worth in harassing phone calls.

i would be pretty irritated at this point...even if there is a legit reason for the delay, it would be courteous for him to pm you and fill you in on the situation...after 7 days of no response i would report it to paypal and publicly shame the "seller"...just my $.02...that really sucks you are dealing with this, and i hope it was wasnt for a large sum of money(doesnt really matter, its the principle that counts here)...wishing you the best, and hope it all works out for ya!

thanks to all those who have already replied. I have had so many good deals on these boards, so it seemed about time to have a bad one...
That being said, it was a minimal amount ($35) but it was a gift for my sons birthday which he would have loved. Hopefully an oversight by the seller...

You've waited 5 days for shipping since you paid. That is long enough. It sounds if you used PP services so you should be covered.
End the agony now and request a refund. If the seller has had an emergency come up the two of you can work out another deal later.
