Real or fake?

I appreciate the opinions of the folks on this board. Is this guy selling legit cards or are these all fake?

I'm curious about the Orr and Lemieux cards although that auction already ended. Thanks!

Authentic buy most likely (99%) would not number grade with PSA.

I'm curious why you think the Lemieux and the Orrs wouldn't number grade? Trimmed?

The Ludwell Denny card is an obvious fake (fonts are completely wrong front & back), and I'm not liking the Rose rookie either.

    Real Lud Denny
I wasn't even aware that fakes had been made of this card.

Personally, I would stay away from everything listed.

The general assumption is that if a valuable card is in a slab other than PSA, SGC, or BGS, then it's in that slab for a nefarious reason.

People don't trust the reputation of grading companies outside of the big 3.

Most likely.. I've had one grade (86 Jordan) but all others were trimmed. Small sample size though.

I like his caveat at the bottom of the auction

"I'm also aware of the scam where shady people buy cards and then swap out the cards with very convincing fakes or replica cards, so due to that issue, I will not accept returns. ALL SALES FINAL!"

Basically he is setting it up to blame the BUYER when they discover its a fake
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Not sure about the cards (although I think most people here would agree that you should stay away from any "PRO GRADED" slabs) but I'd check out that acne cream and validate: "Sold by licensed aesthetician and trusted private business owner."

Did not see that.... Definitely stay away.
  • PRO is usually trimmed when it comes to significant issues. That being said I did crack a 1997 Finest Atomic ref /74 out of one that turned into a BGS 9.5. That's not the norm obviously

Wow...that's a bad fake if the card you linked is legit. On the back of the card, his has "National Football League Players Association" text around the football and the real one does not.

I didn't even notice that part. Lud was never a member of the NFLPA, just the owner of Pro Set. Looks like that listing has been poofed.
