Funny horrible seller

Bought a card for $2.00, and shipping is $2.50 from a seller with 75 Pos. feedback and 2 neutrals for slow shipping. Lives about 2 hours away from me in CA.
Rec'd the card 8 days later from him in a PWE and the card is bent in half (either stepped on, or from roller machine). I told him I'd like to send it back for a refund
because of what happened and I would send it back in a PWE like he did. He said that's fine, and include the original envelope that he sent it in. I told him it's soaking
in my garbage with garbage juice; can you give me your address again? While I waited for him to respond, I pulled his juicy envelope out of my garbage and got the address.
Had it all ready to go, and he replies back with a different address 3K miles away in MA. I said what gives? He said......wait for it.......
wait for it.......
That's his address for his customer support center? Really? You hired a customer support center to handle all your returns when you live in Canoga Park in Apt. 2175.
I told him to keep the $4.50 cos he seems to really need it. Left a red comment

Good thing it was a low-dollar item.
From a buying perspective, I've been getting frustrated lately with having free shipping on items. Due to various seller benefits, more people have been offering free shipping lately, but it seems that has degraded into more and more sellers taking advantage of the ability to use a PWE with minimal safety in interior packaging in order to counter-balance the free ship. I'd rather a seller charged $2.50 or so to ship a card and then shipped it correctly instead of giving me "free" shipping. You don't usually know in advance when you buy a free shipping item just how it will truly get shipped (PWE or not) and I don't think a seller should have to ask clarification on that one in advance.
As a buyer, if someone offers free shipping AND it gets to me in the condition advertised, I dont care if they used a trained carrier pigeon to get it to me.
From a seller standpoint, there is absolutely NO WAY to sell low dollar items. The cost of shipping with a bubble mailer and sufficient protection is close to $2. I have seen a lot of newer items for auction or BIN with $2 shipping, but if the card is only worth a buck, then it makes it difficult to justify paying the $2 for bubble mailer. Many buyers, including myself, would prefer the option of a PWE for a buck to get a card I want. If you ship an envelope "NON MACHINEABLE" it wont go through the rollers. It costs 65 cents plus envelope plus protection inside the envelope. Ebay as screwed out that option with its shipping policy restrictions and return policy. Not to mention the cost of a bubble mailer used to be 65 cents to mail, now its almost tripled. There is no right solution as long as honest sellers are willing to make good if the PWE gets damaged and honest buyers wont file falso item not received claims. Unfortunately ebay is full of dishonest people on both sides
You're right about that. I know I can ship around 20 or so (maybe more?) relatively low-value cards for the same cost as shipping one low-value card if going the route of padded/protected & tracked instead of PWE, so I just try to work the combined shipping angle on that one as much as possible, whether buying or selling.
I don't pay for an ebay store, I just wait for the inevitable free listing specials. When they pop up, I run through my "unsold auctions" and re-list them. It's like having my junk cards sitting on COMC, but for free.
I could not sleep all night worrying.
<< <i>He's now going to call his lawyers on me and report me to eBay if I don't remove the neg.

I'm guessing the address for his lawyer is the same as his Customer Service.
hit the refund button immediately and I will put a stamp on the envelope and ship the card back anywhere he
wanted. He just refunded me and was kissing my ass on his message. I told him to invest in some bubble mailers.
I charge $2.50 for single cards in top loaders, with 2 cardboard pieces rubberbanded, and into a bubble mailer.
Buy bubble mailers in bulk. I get 500 for about 8 cents a piece delivered. The risk of sending anything in a PWE
is just not worth it.
