I always wondered that myself. The "No purchase necessary" disclaimer.

I did once when they put out the Lord of the Rings cards. Yes, Lord of the Rings LOL....and I actually received four in the mail. Nothing rare but still neat to get. Never did it for any sports. Dont know why I didnt but maybe I should.

During the first couple of years of heritage and topps archives I received a few chrome and autographed cards via the sweep stakes entries

Since Yankeeno was being open, I will too. I did it with Star Wars Widevision cards in the 90's. I can't remember how many I sent in but I got a lot of inserts back... chromes etc. As well, I don't know why I never did it with sports.

Holy cow, Blue Jay Way! You just reminded me. I filled out an index card in the fall and mailed it to Topps when I was collecting their football cards. I have not heard, nor have I received, anything in response. image

You guys are great. Collecting those cards is nothing to be ashamed of. As a matter of fact, I not only collected those cards, but I collect Game of Thrones autograph cards as well. image

I have collected some Star Trek autographed cards.
  • Back in th 80s, wax had those little yellow scratch off cards. Sent in hundreds......big nothing.

Which year of topps wax had those? They were business card sized. Yellow with a few round silver scratch off dots. Maybe revealed a single double or a prize. Hmmm?

1981 Topps had the yellow scratch off inserts. I scratched what seemed like thousands of those (though being five, was probably more like two dozen). I once scratched off a 'walk' and screamed joyfully at my good luck.

I send in NPNs regularly. Topps seems to have stopped providing cards to anyone since around a year ago. image Panini does much better by me - nothing in the past month or so, but lots of stuff over the past year, including jersey cards and a rookie auto. Press Pass has occasional hits, but one of those was a dual auto /10.
