PSA SENT ME A MESSAGE TODAY Scans added.

First off they said (and I'm paraphrasing here) your eyes suck! Oh, and your cards are crap to!
So after I saw the message I went back and looked at some scans of some of the cards I sent them. Wait for it..........they were right my cards were crap and not all 9's and 10's. LOL

So then I think, oh shoot I also had like a 55 card sub in the same package. I guess I need to put away the rose colored glasses. LOL

If they could guarantee me that lasik surgery could improve my grading eye I might consider it. image

  • I forgot to add, they also told me to sit in on a first grade class for a week and learn how to use scissors again. Because they won't grade the cards I cut out. Next time I'll have my eleven year old cut for me. Lol

This is hilarious. I love your attitude.
  • It's no wonder those PSA 10's cost so much!

  • No they said to get a pair of Fiskers with the inch and half blades because that's what they use in first grade.

By the way don't try to cut any cards with those. About 10-12 years ago when I was about twenty-five. I thought I was real cool back then and had the barber use those on my head to texture my hair so my pho-hawk (spelling?) looked just so. If you try to cut cards you will mangle the edges for sure. It will end up looking like an OPC card.

Now that I think about, use those to cut the OPC box bottom cards.

This post is too funny. I can only imagine the carnage when I finally do my first PSA submission!

I fear I'm days away from the same PSA message. My first sub (15 cards) logged last Monday, so I'm only refreshing each hour in anticipation of a giant letdown.

  • Cards came in today, out of all the cards only two I though should have graded higher.

First up this great looking McMahon it has the slightest chipping around the bottom RT and RT border plus it has a little tilt. The card looks great in hand, If I was grading it I would have thrown me a bone and given me a 10! (he/she might have thought about it for a slight second). LOL

Next up this micro chipper rookie the font looks great, but they couldn't give it a 10. Again if it were me I would have looked past the back and just focused on the front and gave me a 10.

Next the two cards I think were under graded first this Sandberg is tough to find centered properly, but this card to me is almost flawless. I'm going to resend this card. thoughts?

And now this 86 topps card this is now a pop 1 9 no 10,s this card is one that normally looks lousy the only reason it was a nine (I think) was the tiny blue line in the RT border, I have 86 topps 10 and seen 10's that don't look this good. Thoughts on this card?

The Dempsey has a stain on the back right near his birthday. Also (might be the scan), some type of smudge on the front between his first and last name?

Sandberg looks nice....upper and lower right corners maybe?

    Good luck if you resub.
  • The front is a scratch on the case, but the back of those 86 topps always have spots on the backs so I didn't even notice. They must downgrade for those marks. Good eye.

  • Booo on the chipper grade. That card is so hard to get centered on the front, figures the back would be like that.

Sandberg card looks like a 10, the other cards all have small issues that make them 9's to me. PSA doesn't "overlook" anything on the cards I send in.

I sent in a 1962 Killebrew In Action card with a faint crease on the back and it came back a 1.5, even with the crease it should have been at least a 4/5!

They seem to be good at finding those hard to see flaws!

  • I had also sent in a 2012 platinum wilson blue refractor that had an indent on the back that came back a 6, and I didn't see it when I sent it in. Even if I did I wanted the card slabbed anyway. They are good, I wonder how long they inspect each card? More time on vintage and less on modern? I'm still just learning what to look for I'll get better as time goes on I hope anyway.

  • I agree with the others about the Sandberg having a shot at 10. Any given day, right? As for your original post having grades you popped that were disappointing, I've found what helps me is to put the cards I am planning on subbing away for a week before I look at them again. It is amazing what I found to have overlooked with some fresh eyes. It has saved me a ton of money.
