Brooks Robinson suing for fall at casino.

He's suing the Seminole Indian tribe for $9.9 million related to his injuries from a 2012 fall from the South Florida casinos stage. His atty. states the stage at the Hard Rock casino had no back railing. Thread created for followers of Brooks.

    Thanks to an arrangement with the state, the tribe has a liability limit of just $200,000 per person, so it is unlikely that Brooks will get anywhere close to what he's asking. The tribe has said, however, that they're willing to negotiate a settlement with him.

    I hadn't heard of this story before. Brooks' injuries were REALLY severe:

    "Robinson still experiences bleeding on the brain, cracks in his spine, and has lost five inches in height as a result of the injuries, Hickey said. He requires constant care and “has aged ten years since the fall.”

    The fact that another player fell on the same stage as Brooks, just prior to when Brooks fell, and whoever was in charge didn't do anything to make the area safer, points to the promoter as being both negligent and stupid. I hope they treat Brooks fairly, because he is one of the greatest ambassadors of the game, a genuinely nice man.
