I'm on eBay last week and I buy two early cards (2nd/3rd years of same brand, both PSA 10 and part of basic set registry) and paid the $140 shipped. A few days later, I get an alert that some searches came up for the same player, ended up being the same seller. I buy 5-6 of these PSA 10s for $10-$15 each, again, for the Basic Set.. (still waiting for the updated invoice for these 6 cards).. Now, another alert comes up (same seller) and there are 3 more I need for my basic set and these cards, which are not anymore special/sought-after as previous 5-6 I bought, are priced $25-$40 each. Do I have good reason to believe he's aware of what I need (perhaps even from my WTB thread on here) and trying to get more for them?
Have any of you noticed something like this being done to you? Perhaps he doesn't know the true value of these last three cards but I find this to be a strange coincidence.

<< <i>If I had a stack of cards to list and someone keeps buying up all of player "X" I would probably go and list more of that same player. >>
I completely agree with selling player "X" if someone keeps buying him up. I was concerned about the rise in price.. The seller got back to me and said the cards that were higher in price were harder for him to find. If they don't sell, he said he would lower the price.
This is also a reason to keep your registry private.

Just set your mental price and/or offer what you're comfortable paying - as with any "market", if someone else is willing to pay more then they're probably going to win
Also, put yourself in the sellers shoes - if you knew someone else needed/wanted something wouldn't you try to get the most you could?
I don't see this is anything "bad", it's just maybe a little unlucky. I might appeal to the "return customer" plea and see if the seller will discount you for all the business. I know I would, as I see repeat buyers as THE BEST FEEDBACK you can get.
