How does Heritage photograph Classic Proofs?

Hi folks,

I am always very impressed by the Heritage photography on Classic Proofs but it seems there must be some type of unusual setup, photo adjustment, or lighting they use to achieve the effect that they do. I have links to a few below that show what I'm talking about:

http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1192&lotNo=3657

http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1202&lotNo=5113

http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1202&lotNo=5146

Anyone know how this is done?

    There, I helped you.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

It looks like axial lighting to me.

What is axial lighting? I have not heard that term before.

In axial lighting, the camera lens is aimed through a sheet of glass set at an angle over the coin to reflect the light which is aimed parallel to the plane of the coin. I can only make it work with raw coins, I always get reflections with slabbed coins. not sure how Heritage pulls this off!

It really shows off surface color, as on this previously dipped, then paper toned bust half:
