Need help: What tools do I need to crack a card out of holder.

I am about to send in a small sub. I have a card in a GAI holder. What tools will I need to get this card out? I am not particularly handy so if it is possible to put a link or picture of the tool that would help me out. I have read on here that GAI holders are tough to get open. Any tips on how to do this safely? Thanks!
Steve

    Wire cutters

The GAI case is by far the toughest to crack open. Just be careful because it won't be just one snip like you can do with other slabs.

I can't give any advice on technique because I am not aware of an easy way.

Here is a thread from some time ago and there might be some tidbits in there.

    Good luck!

I use a drimmel and a flathead. Dpeck has a nice video on opening a case.

I am impatient. I use a bolt cutter and then finish with small flat screw driver. Takes me under 10 seconds on any slab. No problems so far

+1, except I use a cable cutter vs. bolt cutter. 10 seconds max with no problems yet.

Depending on the value of the card, one of the main tools you will need is a set of brass balls. I think this is the guy to talk to:

With higher value cards I usually use a hacksaw to cut off the upper part of the case (and the flip). Then I gently pry
apart the plastic by inserting a flathead screwdriver between the now "opened" edges of the plastic where I made the cut.

Working out to a side and then gently flexing at the edges until they separate (first one side and then the other). I have
never killed a card doing it this way.

It works perfect for PSA and SGC too. GAI is a different story. Their case folds under and is like a brick. It might take as many as 10 cuts with the wire cutters. The hacksaw idea sounds like a good one if you are set up with a workbench and tools.
