Jose Canseco FINALLY retires...but shouldn't go to Hall of Fame...

Jose Canseco FINALLY hangs them up. What happened to the "I will NEVER retire until I get 500 homeruns. They'd have to roll me out there on a wheelchair if necessary because I promised my daughter that I would get 500 for her and I plan on doing that." Well GUESS WHAT Jose? You were a great player and it was TIME for you to retire. You won't be hitting any homeruns if NO ONE wants you on there team! I'm not bashing Jose for his career, but he did make a promise to his kid that he would get 500 Homers...but he broke that promise, but hey, life goes on. I also don't think Jose should be in the Hall of Fame. He had some great years and was the 1st ever 40/40 man, but he's like Dale Murphy when it comes to the Hall of Fame: He was a great great player, but not quite enough to make it into the Hall of Fame (although Dale Murphy had 2 MVP awards and hit 398 Homers in only 16 seasons). You make the call by looking at Jose Canseco's stats and telling me if he belongs in the hall.

Jose Canseco career statistics:

Games - 1,887
At Bats - 7,057
Hits - 1,877
Runs - 1187
Doubles - 340
Triples - 14
Homeruns - 462
RBI's - 1,407
Walks - 906
Strikouts - 1,942
Stolen bases - 200
Average - .266
On Base Percentage - .353
Slugging Percentage - .505

I don't think you'll see Jose Canseco in the Hall of Fame...

Totally agree. With numbers like under 2000 hits, under 500 HR's, and a lifetime 266 avg. , we probably will never see him at Cooperstown. (I guess also being a jerk is not going to help his chances)
