Football Fan Fest in Cleveland

Surprised no one has mentioned that there will be a football hall of fame fan fest at the IX center in May. From what I understand there will be 100 hall of famers there....has anyone seen any additional info on this? They are pushing it big time on the local tv stations here in Cleveland..

wow, didn't realize it was that expensive to get in....I can see individual autograph prices for the HOF'ers but if it is that much to get in forget it.....
  • Look closer....

2 days with each day divided into 2 groups with 4 sessions each?! Then it's $300 per session...16 sessions...each session only 4-5 HOFers...and looks like all or none, meaning u may only want one of the players in the group or five but still pay $300 and get 4 other kinda obscure guys who I haven interest in. Looks like the spread out the big names across the sessions. kind of rubs me the wrong way. So if I want 4 big names, with admission it could cost me $1400!!!!??!

So no individual players for autographs?

Don't like the setup or the "packages" at all. And some of those HOFers don't charge $50 by themselves.

Good concept but I won't attend.

Its not worth it save your money, not to mention you can only bring in one item to have signed otherwise you have to buy it from the hall of fame, no pictures while items are being signed and contact with the hall of famers (handshakes ect. will result in ejection). That sealed the deal for a lot of people. Whoever set up the prices/groupings is dumb but whoever made up the rules is absolutely stupid.

I will be attending. Reading a little bit of incorrect info here, so will add what I know to be true.

1- A one day pass is $65, and all-day both days is $130. This includes quite a bit, examples:

-Fans will have a chance to meet, talk with and have their photos taken with the Hall of Famers as they walk throughout the event.

-Legends Theater – Hall of Famers will talk about their amazing careers, their road to the Hall of Fame, and answer fans’ questions in the 1,000 seat theater.

-NFL Draft Chalk Talk Theater – Hall of Famers will discuss and answer fans’ questions regarding the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft.

2- You are no longer limited in the number of items you can bring to the event. From the autograph policy:

"There is no restriction on the type and quantity of items a guest can bring into the event to be autographed. However, there is only one (1) autograph per Hall of Famer, per session ticket."

3- Someone mentioned, no photos or handshakes. Correct and incorrect. If you are there for autographs, you purchase the autograph packages. While getting the autos, there are no pictures or conversation, you just receive the auto. However, the plan is to have many of the Hall of Famers walking around the event and mingling with the fans for pictures and handshakes. And during this time NO AUTOS will be allowed. I like it because it separates the autograph professionals there to make money from the autos from the casual fans who maybe just want a meet and greet and don't care much about the autographs.

Its the first event of its kind, no idea how it will turn out. But I've been to Enshrinement Ceremonies before, and this provides many similar interactions for a much lower price unless you are there just to get autographs. Based on the pricing and setup mentioned above you aren't going to make much profit. Maybe that will keep some of the autograph hounds away (but probably not).

I plan on getting a few autos on some unique items I have and will be bringing them with me to the event. Don't plan on buying anything there, as I'm sure the price will be overblown at the event as always.

Hoping for a fun couple of days with 100 HOFers.

  • Don't think I posted anything incorrect. Yes they have a lot of other activities, I get it. But its the $300 per session. 16 sessions that get me. Its their first year but it seems like whoever set it up got a little greedy by grouping them the way they did. It's very apparent how they sprinkled the most popular thru out. And make u pay for 4-5 others u dont want.

I'm not looking to resell at all. Say i just want sanders and Woodson. Not for $600 I don't. Maybe pay $300 to pick two. Thens it's on me to come in sat and Sunday, wait in line again, admission etc to get the two. I'd be fine with that. Make it a little more al a carte. Where both win. Just looks a little more one sided.

But no big deal. I do know when they have these in canton the autos are/were free which was amazing. Got hams and Sayers. Except they didn't look happy those

My friends that live there would love to take their kids already saying it's too pricey. Howdoes the national structure theirs?

They're close in making it appealing but not enough to fly in. Or even drive an hour. Also, it being offseason doesn't help them.

I was only responding to the incorrect or missing statements. I also am not a big fan of the pricing and structure of the autograph sessions. At the same time, there are a few worthwhile..Joe Namath for example is typically $200-$250 alone on premium items..And with no restriction on the item you bring, I personally would and will be bringing a premium item. So there are a couple worth looking into, but for me I'm not going strictly for autos.

As far as getting autographs at the Enshrinements, there are typically TONS of signings setup, 99% of which for a price. You can get them a la carte(price per player) but at the same time you won't have a chance to hit more than a few players and signings due to the locations being different and the lines at each. You can also score freebies, but they are few and far between...It tends to get pretty tough to get freebies or meet and greets due to the HOFers having very busy schedules during their few days there..Not to mention many of which are too old or disinterested in signing anything at all that week. No way you'll score 100 autos much less even more than 5 or 10 freebies unless you've got an insider play setup...

To each his own. I will attend the enshrinement ceremony this year as well. Value and worth of any of these events is determined by each persons opinion. Much like buying or selling cards. This is the first FanFest, so I'm gonna check it out and see how it goes..I am certain I will enjoy it, but I'm also a big football guy and an NFL History buff. If I purchase and receive 0 auto's I believe they have enough going on to make it worth the admission fee, but that's just me. They do have deals (such as BOGO admission tickets) if you know where to look.

And if anyone knows somewhere else that you can obtain autos of 100 HOF players for free, please advise..lol

i had seen this and was thinking about going, but then saw the different sessions and decided no way

just looking at the sessions, there's probably only one that I feel like is worth the $300 session cost - the one with Namath and White

franco is interesting just because he doesn't get out and sign that much, but $300?

seems to me that the "autograph" craze has gotten totally out of hand at this point, and i'm a huge collector but $50-60 PER HALL OF FAMER is just ridiculous
