Bought the card not the holder need your opinions...

I just purchased this PSA 9 o/c. The PSA 9 has very sharp corners and great color. My PSA 8 centering is not much better. Any chance this card can get a straight 9? Given I only paid $400 for the PSA 9 o/c and a straight PSA 9 sells for over $4000 I think I did pretty well. What are your opinions on this o/c card? I also want to thank MBMILLER25 for his opinion before I purchased the card.

No chance of a straight 9, IMHO.

I don't think it will get a straight 9. Congrats on your nice cards!

The PSA 9(OC) card appears to be off centered way too low to have PSA remove the OC from the grade.

I agree with others' comments. No way that gets a straight 9 and I don't see it qualifying for an unqualified 8. Good shot at a straight 7 though. These cards are tough to measure due to having no border at the top.

However, I think the card presents very well, as the L/R centering is very nice.
I measured the bottom border, on the left side, on both cards. There is about 70% more white border on the "8" than there is on the "9 o/c".

Your PSA 9 (OC) looks not much different than my SGC 5. Just goes to show how different graders view the same card.....

  • Bobby, is there a surface wrinkle on that SGC?

    No...none...just OC to the bottom.

That's a really interesting comparison. Thanks for posting it Bobby.

That PSA should get a 7 without qualifiers while that SGC should go up a couple grades. Just my guesses though but I have bought and sold and subbed a few of these.

Here's another for reference. Looks like a low end 8 due to centering but very clean and sweet corners. Mine
