OT: Just got home from the hospital

So totally OT...but got rushed to the hospital this afternoon because I was having chest pains and shortness of breath. Turns out that my heart is fine. Doc said I'm too stressed out and drink too much caffeine. Told me I need some RR. I haven't been on vacation in 2 years. Time to get some rest and relaxation.

Chris, I am glad you have no heart issues and that RR will do the trick. Listen to your Doc and take that vacation.

Glad to hear you are o.k., but like John said listen to your doctor and find a nice quiet place to relax.

Chris ... glad to hear that it was not heart related. Now go listen to Billy Joel and "forget about life for a while".
    STAY HEALTHY!

Glad to hear you are okay--take care of yourself and cut down on the caffeine! Too many 5-hour energy supplements being marketed as harmless today.

Good to hear you are ok.....now, get off the high octane drinks if you are using them(red bull, rock star, etc). They dont mix well with any part of daily life. Im in agreement that they are very dangerous.

Nothing should get you that worked up! I dont have any advice, because like yourself, sometimes I get very stessed out and dont know how to deal, including feeling like I'm having a heart attack. However, I'm sure you can do some research and see something that might help you.

Thanks everyone! I don't drink energy drinks. It was regular fountain soda. You know the old saying, "Easier said than done"? Well, part of my job is to listen to what other people are going through, help them process, and then get them on their way to getting additional help if need be. Truth is, I'm not really good at doing that for myself. Actually I really stink at it. So I've got some things I need to work on around that for sure.

Lots of stuff I have to process, but I appreciate all the prayers, well wishes, etc. This hobby is a huge part of my relaxing so I hope I get a chance soon to do a bit more than I have lately.

Psychiatrists are required to have their own Psychiatrist for this very reason. It might be a good idea to have a psychiatrist or psychologist of your own so you can get some of the stress of others off your chest.

i have always loved soda (still do) but i switched to seltzer water and found that the carbonation in the seltzer is the fix that i was looking for. Every now and then i do have a fountain soda but for the most part i stay with seltzer.

Stress is a killer, especially when most of your stress is related to dealing with other people's problems. I can certainly relate to that, Guru. I find it helpful to lose myself in baseball and vintage cartoons when the stress gets to me. Try giving MLB Network and Boomerang some more attention than usual.
