Hello everyone,
I signed up a few weeks ago but did not introduce myself formally. My name is Dan, I grew up in Chicago (also lived in Portland/Seattle) but moved to South Korea a month ago to be a Guest English teacher. Since I grew up in the 80's, my first baseball card love is Don Mattingly (PSA Set Registry) followed closely by unopened 80's boxes/racks/cellos. A friend of mine, who has many more cards than myself, is kindly storing all of my purchases (and stuff from my last apartment) while I'm abroad for most likely two years. Hopefully when I get back to the US I will have a multitude of boxes to open when I get back. Can you imagine?
I am definitely gaining interest in pre-80's by reading all of the threads on here. Very cool stuff. And you people are hilarious. You have me LMAO at times.
Thanks
Dan

You could do much worse than South Korea. It's a beautiful country with a lot of great people.
Enjoy your time there.... and here.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Welcome. I am curious as to what kind of sports cards they have in South Korea. Let us know. >>
I am in Daegu, the 4th largest city in South korea. So far I have yet to see a single pack..I am headed to Seoul this weekend for the first time. I haven't planned to conciously search out a store but I'll keep my eyes open. If I see any cards, I think it would be in Seoul.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
<< <i>Welcome! Are you enjoying the Kimchi? >>
It's ok. I love bibimbop.
+1. Would be interesting to see some South Korean sports cards.

I saw one of the baseball stadiums on a drive to Bucheon but didn't get to attend a game. Would be interesting to see though. Hopefully Dan can find some cards and post them on here. For some reason I don't think to look for them when I'm there.
<< <i>I attended my first game this past Sunday. Samsung Lions (Daegu) beat Kia Tigers 8-5. Talent level wasnt MLB as expected but was still fun. >>
Yeah, but who cares when all their pitchers look like this, this, or this!
And don't you dare ruin that illusion for me, Dan!

Yeah, I didn't get that at my game. I saw those before I even got over here, lol. I definitely prefer the white pants over the black for them.
