I arrived at 9:40am today and found Mr. Steve Hart working hard sorting through some albums of vintage cards as I peered into the clean windows of his brand new storefront. He waved me to the door and was so very kind in allowing me to be the first customer in his new store. I felt very privileged to have been there and basically had the store to myself for 20 minutes. The store looks immaculate with boxes of all sports lining the shelves from top to bottom and a wall of autograph cards, balls, and jerseys, not to mention a slew of other high end autographed sports memorabilia.
I really wanted to be the first customer in his store and brought a crisp $2.00 for the initial purchase so to speak for him to put on his wall for good luck like some stores do. I thought it would be a nice gesture and Steve just loved it and is going to get it framed. I signed it, and dated it. I also brought in a box of Battlestar Galactica for Steve to authenticate and shrink wrap for me, which he did, and he signed and dated that today also.
I bought a couple of raw cards to start. They were Topps Allen and Ginter relic cards of Adam Dunn & Darwin Barney. Then I called a board member on the phone and I ripped a 1980 Topps baseball wax pack. I will scan the cards and post pictures in a few tonight, along with pictures of some other stuff.
I also bought a couple of Topps Heritage baseball wax boxes from 2014 and 2013 along with 3 wax packs of 2014 Heritage to rip, a RakPak box from 1988, a 1984 Topps baseball wax box, a 2010 Topps baseball update wax box, (12) 1986 topps RakPaks, and 5 boxes of 1990 Topps baseball wax box in which I opened 1 box and sat there and ripped it for fun. I pulled a N.N.O.F. Frank Thomas #414 in my 5th pack. It was the absolute highlight of my year so far!!!!!
I will post some pictures sometime tonight of everything...
Thanks to Steve Hart, Reed, and the entire gang at BBCE. They fed me Pizza and coke for lunch too! Had a steller time!
Paul.
P.S. Everything I said is 100% true except for the Frank Thomas card. It was a Name on front card!......April fools!!! 1 day early. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Great writeup Paul, but it makes me wish I was within driving distance. Then again, that might not be such a good idea.

Collecting:
Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I picked up a Kaline Auto ball a few packs and a 59 Kaline. I will definitely be back, even though it was a bit of a hike.
FYI, if you go and use any type of Navigation system you may end up circling around the parking lot of a Home Depot. Don't be fooled by the Nav, continue down 41 for about 2 more miles and you'll see the store.
<< <i>It's a bit of a hike for me, but if I can get a couple guys to do it, maybe we'll take a road trip from Milwaukee soon. I'd love to check the store out!!! >>
Looks like they have limited inventory in the store, but if you have something you want to buy off the website or their ebay store they'll pull it for you.
I also think they have a billion things that aren't available on any of their offerings. The guy who was in the store before me was asking them about items that I know I've never seen listed from them, and someone would pop out from the back room with it. Overall: Awesome.
<< <i>You pull a NNOF Thomas and no pic?!!! >>
