Anyone else have a similiar LOVE of the hobby story?

Found the absolute LOVE in the hobby again last night...very excited and can't remember the last time it was this good. As some of you know I collect unopened football and vintange PSA baseball. Maybe a strange combo but I think it has something to do with my childhood as I loved Football cards while admiring those that owned vintage baseball cards. I'm 43 and born, raised in Chicago so the 70s and 80s were amazing for sports.
Last night I decided to open a box of 1985 football (I have 3 beautfiul boxes, now 2). The first pack I opened had perfectly centered, no chipping cards...I was of course hoping for some big names and pulled the Broncos team checklist and a Richard Dent...both look PSA 9 plus, tad off center on the back is the only issue...Long story short, I opened 10 packs last night and just about every card was beautiful, including a ridiculous Montana and Payton. I can't wait to open the rest of the box tonight.
I didn't realize how I still had the LOVE of this hobby as much as ever, as it's been a long time. It's really an amazing feeling...after this box I will probably hold off again for quite some time...but cool to know the rush still exists.

DanBessette--looking forward to you posting pics of your new card. Like you, I am always excited when I can get a card that I didn't think I could own when I was a kid.
Ive ripped at least 7-8 85 Wax fb boxes over the years and it always is exciting.
I very much enjoy sorting and looking at them like when we were kids.
I think all of this TPGing stuff has created alot of "Fake Collectors" whos only involment in the hobby
is "Whats it worth" and how much profit they can get.
I love the sleek Black beauties for what they are, not what they're worth.
