I bet the number of 1's and 2's left goes down dramatically. All sellers should wet themselves.

More ebay games. Honestly, a buyer shouldn't GET feedback at all. If they pay, then great, if they dont, they get a public/permanent negative on their account for non paying. Thats their only job.

I will disagree with this, there are many things besides paying/not paying that should be tracked. Unfortunately, since one can only leave positive feedback for a buyer, eBay has made the feedback useless.
I think they should also track things like: Bid retractions (# & %) Sellers should be able to note the buyers seeking partial refund for case scratches, etc. so future sellers know if this is a frequent occurrence/scam Avg time between winning/paying
All AHs I've dealt with require references to even be allowed the privilege of bidding, eBay requires only a credit card.
yeah. bid retractions. never seen a person go bonkers with that one until recently....had a guy bid on over a dozen items and then every few days he'd retract a handful until he was down to about 3....i cancelled and blocked him.
but what was particularly funny about it was all auctions started at .99 and he was whacking $1.00 bids for putting in the wrong amount.

Tracked yes, but it should not affect the feedback score. Feedback should be for sellers. Sportlots has a pretty good system that tracks non payment and other buyer issues, although it really doesnt enforce a policy on it as I think ebay might. I agree that bid retractions should be shown and you should be able to put in a number that would block someone with xxxx number of retractions from bidding on your auction. They should list average time to pay, etc etc. But honestly, if a person pays for an item on time, what else is there? If a buyer is not happy with his purchase and has a legit reason for it, at least in their mind, do you think a seller should be able to lie or blast the buyer for being unhappy? Thats what started the whole "no feedback for buyers" in the first place....as it was mainly shady/dishonest sellers who would neg a buyer for paying on time but being dissatisfied with their purchase. There are difficult customers in all businesses, whether online or not, I deal with them daily, but if you provide good service, most of them are return customers. But if I yelled at them (ie a neg fb) because of them being unhappy, I guarantee they go somewhere else next time.
I do like the eBay option that lets sellers block and buyers with a feedback rating of -1 or lower. Seeing that negatives cannot be left for buyers, how does one accrue such a rating?

They'd have to use that ID for selling too, or they'd have to have accumulated negative feedback back when buyers could receive a neg.
<< <i>I think ebay should add an automated system where the buyer gets a negative feedback for an item which they also get an unpaid item strike. >>
That would make perfect sense, every seller would agree. Zero chance that eBay will implement it though

By request, here they are again...........MILTON BRADLEY and the STAR DINGERS!!!!!!
Maybe all those star-dingers will start leaving negs instead.

<< <i>Why would this stop people from leaving 1 or 2 stars?

Exactly. If I feel like dinging stars (and it's merited) I will, and I couldn't care less if the seller knows it.

<< <i>So sellers can leave neg feedback under this change or did I read this wrong? >>
I think you read it wrong.
I'll never understand why quantity of unpaid item strikes and bid retractions aren't listed on the public feedback section of every buyer on ebay.
