1986 McDonald's Play & Win football

Just wondering if there is any value to a complete unscratched set? I have a couple in different colors and thought I remember reading somewhere that one of the colors was harder than the others.

Thanks-
Claude

I purchased a lot of 45 or so Vikings blue tab unscratched sets about a year ago for about $60. I'm down to 3 left and made over $400 on my investment.

There were definitely some color variations that were harder to find and cost more--but I can't recall if was one color across the board that was harder to find, or if it varied by region or teams.

I used to post my want list for this set in the BST trade forum occasionally--but rarely got any help, so I have not posted it in a while. I was pretty close to having all the player variations that I needed.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

Here are the 3 sets I have, all in different colors. How many colors were there?...ps: Mine are Bufalo Bills sets, I guess there were sets for every team.

Blue, Black, Gold, & Green depending on the week of the promotion you got them.

Generally speaking, the blue tabs are considered to be harder to find than the others and books for a premium (typically around x2 the other colors).

However, this varies for some teams, and book values range from $6 to $200 a set. depending on the team + tab color (i.e. the Bills blue set books for $150!).

There is value to the 86 - 49ers set as it includes Jerry Rice.

    Thanks,

Appreciate this thread. I knew I had some buried somewhere. Forgot about them until this thread. Completed the search mission. Found 115. 52 unscratched of which 4 are of the green variety. Other 48 are copper. Got Montana, Marino, McMahon, Fouts among others.
