What's the Panini RC of choice for registry?

As a basketball set registry collector, at some point soon, the future HOF sets will have to include rookie cards from the Panini era. So what should the John Wall and Paul George registry rookie cards be and what should others be going forward? I know Prizm didn't exist for Wall/George.

  • SHOULD be National Treasures, as those are THE RC's to own, but i doubt they get selected

Is there a National Treasures base card that is more than /799 for Wall and George? The only "base card" (w/ no memorabilia or auto) that seem to fit those two guys are the Donruss Rated Rookie ones and Panini Prestige. I'm assuming that since Topps Chrome was the choice for 10+ years that once the Prizm years begin, those will be the choices for guys like Kyrie Irving etc. but the Wall and George ones are really weird.

I don't know who created the Future HOF'ers set (though I have a pretty good idea), but there are a lot of errors in it. Topps Chrome is not the key rookie card for Duncan, McGrady, Pierce, Nowitzki or Carter. For Duncan it would either be either Ultra or SP Authentic. For the others I mentioned it would definitely be SP Authentic. As for why players like Van Lier, Sloan, Chambers, Wallace, Hamilton, Davis, Marion and Brand are in the set, I have no idea.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I agree completely about the Future HOFers set. SP is the clear choice for McGrady, and the most popular choice for Nowitzki and pierce and Carter as well. And some of the players, well. Beyond long shots.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

As I was saying to shagrotn77 in a PM, my interest is as an autographed rookie collector so I would really like to get this sorted out so I'm not having the wrong cards signed. I agree with the SP rookies from 97-00. I do think the 93-95 guys should be Finest. The 96 guys should be Topps Chrome and 2001-2009 (the end of Topps license) should be Topps Chrome as well. My problem is that the autographed set is always based on the non-auto set. If you guys are participants on that registry, I'd really appreciate it if one of you could request a change. They never listen to me.
