not to mention a mark along the bottom right border and chipping along left border.

Until PSA makes a robot capable of grading according to their written specifications, we will always see undeserving (too high/too low) gradesimage

Reminds me of a John Hannah 74 Topps RC I saw in either a 8 or 9 holder. I know production values were more slack in the 70's but there's some ugly cards residing in high grade slabs.

Remember....there was at least 3 or 4 people that approved this grade. Larry, Moe, Curly and Grader 1187

I don't think there is any criteria, including centering, that has more variance among graders than surface. Some are hawks looking for the tiniest snowflake, others will let a lot go by on a sharp and centered card.

I really question whether or not more than one grader truly sees these. Yeah, I hear the talk about more than one set of eyes approve this grade but the only way I could be 100% sure of that is if I could see the grading taking place, on a daily basis for at least a year. Then I might buy it. Until then, the only thing you can buy is PSA's official stance on their process. Which I, do not buy.

I can understand the 9 grade, but someone missed the PD qualifier.

  • Because someone other than myself submitted the card.

I know right, only [enter other TPG company here] would ever give a card like that a 9.

Doesn't matter if the label says "9," it will only bring 7 or 8 money anyways, because everyone buys the card and not the slab (or the seller for that matter)

We are all aware that 4SC certification numbers (until fairly recently) began with 600xxxxx. Does anyone know how or why the other out of sequence cert numbers are assigned? I'm thinking of the 9051xxxx series, among others, and this particular Reggie has an out of sequence number.

The best I can theorize is that its from another high volume dealer, or maybe from large group subs.

    Clue me in please.

That card is in an old (pre half grade) flip.
