    It could be a picker token for a farm.
  • I'd go with picker token too-- these were English I believe? Initially I was going to guess American slave tag but these usually were holed so as to be worn around the neck. This piece appears to be a smoothed out copper british halfpenny that was punched over.

    Ormandh's theory is as good as any I could come up with.

    It has my initials on it, but I dunno.

    The "backwards s" symbols are intriguing, but I wasn't able to Google up anything helpful about them.

    Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
