Need Advice

I have a chance to purchase some Topps football and want to ensure I am making a wise purchase.
15 1987 xouts boxes are clean $900.00
Case of 1983 in 1981 boxes $1,945
Case of 1988 $540.00

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

It really depends on why you want to buy them. If you are buying to hang on to the boxes it is a decent price. If you plan to resell the boxes there is not much profit to be made. The 87 boxes normally sell for around $65-70 on Ebay, $125-135 for the 83 boxes and $20-25 for the 88 boxes. You would make a little on the 83s but probably lose on the other two.

Those are all fairly priced and, as James said, there isn't a lot of money to be made today flipping them.

That said, you could sit on them for a while in hopes unopened continues its recent trajectory.

Or you could ship them to BBCE to be authenticated and sealed. This will get you top dollar naturally, but it also adds to your cost basis.

If the two cases are factory sealed still, that would obviously add a premium.

I would definitely buy the cases at those prices if they were factory sealed. The 83 to sit on in the hopes it appreciates and the 88 to sit next to a Bo Jackson stack bigger than Mobb Deep's Prodigy. image
