I went for a few hours this morning. From 10-1'ish, it seemed really busy. Every dealer had at least one person looking at coins, walking around was even awkward as you would kind of stumble into people.

I don't know how business was for the dealers, but it seemed like there was good foot traffic. I struck out on what I was looking for (again, go figure... it is what it is), but then did buy one coin I was not looking for but it was really nice and I'm thrilled I bought it as it upgrades one of my Registry sets. First coin I bought in coin show since last October...

Very crowded this morning, thinned out a lot by mid afternoon. I was hoping there would be some "after work" traffic, but it didn't really materialize.

I expect Saturday to be busy.

John I was there when it opened and stopped by your table. Coins were there but you were not. Came back later in morning and missed you again.

I was on a buying spree across the room - sorry I missed you. Normally I have the cell phone number in the case so people can track me down, but there is no phone reception in this apparently lead-lined ballroom.

Someone may have seen the guy decked out in full Bruins regalia but as far as coins go the room was virtual void in what I was looking for AU-better/semi key date MS BQ.. With a certain look ... Rare became prohibitive

I Did look at a very nicely toned, creamy 1907-S in PC66... Sadly priced well over what I expected. Projected $6000-6500.. $7000 tops. $1k above and firm. I'm not personally influenced by CAC stickers; but when ones I century is 50% or better stickered material, you have to ask why not here? You simply have to assume it was sent.... Anyway , it doesn't play much into my decision. There's a couple minor ticks but most importantly it seemed to me the luster wasn't quite there fora 66. And I get that it's toned.. It didn't scream 66 at me ...

(cert #25025986). 1907-S PCGS plate coin
Now, does anyone think it's the same as this NGC 65 that sold 2012 HA , $4100? 1907-S NGC 65]http://http://m.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/AuctionDetail/5648/2471754[/L]

If it is pretty impressive upgrade.. I hope you read this Road Runner... I recall you always said you have no luck crossing Barber or seated Gems... I'm guessing cracked and sent raw versus cross. Someone I know thinks it's definitely the same coin someone I know thinks it probably is not the same coin:

    Opinions on same/different?
    Thoughts on grade- (flation)?[L=

Responding to "You simply have to assume it was sent" Dont assume, I can tell you for a fact that a lot of dealers just do not bother to send their coins to CAC...

This is not a inflammatory thread against dealers, cac, stickers etc... its just a fact that a lot of dealers dont do it

good advice. One dealer (who usually has really nice stuff) has written on his website about his practice of not sending coins to CAC. Other dealers don't do it as a matter of practice, but if asked, they will submit to CAC to make a sale.
