Lesson learned: GAI crossover

I have assembled a handful of GAI/Global Authentic (all four labels) and finally decided to cross them over. Since I planned on keeping most of these, opposed to selling them, I went with another TPG and the results...horrendous. I assumed there would be some issues since a couple of the cards were in the blue and white/black flips, but not this bad. There were 15 cards all rookie cards dating from 1970-1993. I cracked them out and submitted raw. The result: 0 upgrades, 8 crossovers, and 7 downgrades. The most significant downgrade was a 1983 Donruss Gwynn which went from a 9.5 to a 7. Ouch.

If none of them came back EOT then I'd consider your attempt an overall success.

Based on the title of the thread, I was actually expecting a much worse result.

    I would agree, though, that a 9.5 to a 7 is bad.

I agree, definitely could have been much worse...but a smidge over 50% crossover rate is still not even "fair." I have a few crossovers from BGS in at PSA right now, hope they fair a bit better.

Any possibility the Gwynn suffered from the process of cracking out?

I know we are all careful when cracking for resubmittal, but sh*t can happen.
