1975 Topps baseball rack pack - rip. Thanks CPAMike

I picked up a clean 75 topps baseball rack from CPAMike this week. Sure enough, like he mentioned, there is a small hole in the side of the far cell. Guess I need to go ahead and rip this sucker and see what's lying behind the face cards. This will be my 2nd 75 rack rip ever. The first one I pulled some nice commons, but they all graded out 8s. Looking for some star power here - or at least some 9s.

Good luck, Ryan! I hope you pull a nicely centered Brett RC!

  • Thanks Tim. Not off to a good start. Opened the far cell first (Vic Harris on top). No start power to speak of, but pulled a few sharp looking cards. Would love the opinions on these 4.

Indians team card is the best of the bunch, imo, and probably the only card with a good shot at PSA 9.

  • That's kind of what I thought. The others all of a visible touch on the corners or a surface blemish.

    On to the middle cell.

The Dick Pole card is a 6" at best.
  • Some star power in the middle cell with a Lou Brock stolen base leaders card (way OC) and the Seaver. Centering is off t/b and there is some "snow" on the surface. These two will likely keep this one in an 8. I think the centering is within range. I'm thinking the surface keeps it out. Also pulled this sharp Buck Martinez.

Martinez is sharp, but like Seaver is centered a bit low. The snow on Seaver coupled with T/B centering will limit grade to a 7 at best, imo. Martinez looks to be an 8.

  • The final cell is a complete bust. Lots of O/C and zero star power. Looks like I'm going to be subbing the Indians team card the Seaver. I'll take another pass at the other commons I set aside, but I'm not thinking any will holder in a 9. It's been fun as always, thanks for watching.

I can't believe Mike sold a pack with a Seaver in it!

Believe me, if I knew I would have picked another one to sell.

Ryan, I wish I saw this live but I had fatherly responsibilities last night. I was really hoping you got more star power than just the Seaver although he would be a home run for me. Is the Indians team card a low pop in a 9? Like Tim said (and he should know image), that one looks like the best of the bunch.
