I'm not in any huge rush to sell this but have my eye on a nice Owl tetradrachm, so if I do sell it, it will go towards that.
There is a little bit of pixelation (probably jpeg compression) which makes the first set of photos look a little strange in spots.
But you can also look at the ones on the NGC cert verification page and expand them if you like. Usually the NGC cert page photos are pretty awful, but they're serviceable in this case. Patinated coins like this seem to look better in their pictures.
Ancient Rome (Imperial): bronze as of Gaius "Caligula", ca. 37-41 AD
NGC VF (Strike 4/5. Surface 3/5). Ex- Athena Numismatics, London, UK, 1/16/2013. Purchased raw.
To quote the original description: "GAIUS CALIGULA. 37-41 AD. Æ As (10.96 gm). Struck 37/38 AD. C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT, bare head left / VESTA, S C across field, Vesta seated left, holding patera and sceptre. RIC I 38; BMCRE 46; Cohen 27. Good VF, dark patina."
UPDATE: gone to eBay now. True auction, 99c-start, no reserve. So please bid!
Note this lesser example with smoothing. It sold via Best Offer on eBay, so we don't know how much, but was originally priced at $950.00. (That's a little nuts.) - Update- went for $855. Definitely nuts. But these Caligulas have always been popular and are much pricier than five years ago.
This other one sold for $1,216.35 and has the same Strike/Surface ratings as mine, though it is Ch VF rather than VF. (It's a nice coin and admittedly a tiny bit nicer than mine, but not by that much. You see where I'm going with this.)

Wow, if somebody went $855 on that one that went via Best Offer, maybe I should list mine, huh?
I'll give somebody here a little while longer to scoop it up at my $665 ask, then maybe I'll try it on eBay with a starting bid somewhere in the $675-699 range, I guess.
