PLEASE PRICE YOUR CARDS

When listing anything for sale please put prices on your items. It will save you from getting dozens of PMs and will save potential buys from having to PM you just to ask for a price saving you and the buyer time. Plus, it's just good business. A lot of people will just move on if they don't see prices.

Yep, I'm one of them, no pricing, no interest. I just move on, so please list a price.

That's pretty much why I stick to eBay and 4SharpCorners website. I don't have the time for the back and forth. Time is money after all. When someone says, 'Make an offer', I have no idea if the person has a reasonable idea of what their item is worth. There seems to be a lot of posters bashing both eBay and 4SharpCorners but I support both with my purchases.
  • I would also add the same goes for Pics and Scans.

    "Scans upon request" ?????

of coarse I want to see the item.

I wish people would state whether they ship to Canada or not and how much it would be, and not only for Hockey cards as I collect all sports.

There are items on the BST board right now that I am interested in, but have gotten tired of having to PM everyone just to find out if it is even possible to purchase the item.

Of course, prices and pictures are the other two must haves for me to even consider a purchase.

Thanks for the input. In my opinion, the forum needs to require prices in all ads or the ad gets deleted. I am a member of several classic/muscle car forums and all but one of them will delete ads without prices.

Interesting that other collectible sites require prices. Also, I merely wanted to hit some sort of a 'Like' button to show agreement with your comment. This seems to exist on every other web-site I visit - NYTimes, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn. Not a priority here, I guess. Really too bad.

This bothers me more than the pricing. Of course I want to see what I am buying, before I buy. I don't think I should have to ask for a scan of what I would be interested in. Just my opinion.

I put this together as "what would I like to see as a buyer". There are no prices shown, as these are not for sale (at this time). As said above, must haves:

    (1) Year, Manufacturer, Card Number, Player Name, Condition, Price
    (2) Thumbnail image to catch customer's eye
    (3) Links to LARGE front and back scans

  • This is one pet peeve a lot of people have that really doesn't bother me in the least. If it's an item I want, I'll make the first offer; no problem. What's the big deal?

As for the "I don't have the time" argument.... get the hell over yourself. You're browsing a baseball card message board!!!

I agree with Walt--I really don't have any problem with how a person decides to sell their items, and personally wouldn't presume to dictate how someone should run their sale thread. If I don't care for the thread, I simply move on. JMHO.

I'm not big on extra rules, but personally I find it frustrating when there's no price. Then the offer process can be even more frustrating. At this point I just move on and don't open that persons FS threads again if they don't post prices.

It's either time or money. My hobby is not bartering at a Third World Bazaar. When there are no prices, I move on, primarily because my time is more valuable. I have many obligations (wife, kids, mortgage, job, elderly parents) and my time is extremely valuable to me and my family. Sorry, I guess. The original poster indicated that other collectible sites require prices. Makes sense. Great thread.

I understand that responding to a post and typing +Like is the PSA equivalent of a 'Like' button. However, it muddles the thread, it is archaic (bulletin board 1.0) and gives the impression that the owner (PSA) will not invest in the web-site or simply does not care about the web-site.

Gotta love that 'Quote' option when you can copy the entire post into your response and then add your own comment like, 'I agree'.

I couldn't agree more! Why lock yourself into tossing out the first number, all that does is turn it into one of those ridiculously overpriced "By it Now's".

Your advertising a card here that could avoid you having to get into a bidding war on ebay.

If you can't take the time to contact someone, you really don't want the card anyway.

My favorite one was...No prices and please do not send a message asking what the best price was. So someone asked "How would you like me to word it when asking your prices". This cracked me up. Although the seller was a real good guy. I did end up getting something.image
