Advice for removing film on modern cards

Does anyone have any tricks for removing the film? I have a couple of cards that could be 10's, but worried if I pick at them will nick/scratch. Any advice welcome.

    I've had gooey like film on surfaces that I removed with my t-shirt. Never had a problem
    Circular buffing motion.
