If you sell or bid on eBay auctions mark your calendars for March 6 and 7

Lately eBay seems to be offering a lot of eBay bucks promotions. I think there has been a couple 8% and a 10% back on eBay bucks promotions over the last few weeks. I think they are going to be running another one on March 6 and 7. I believe this promotion will be for auctions only and be tiered somehow. I think the promo will be something like auctions b/w $50-100 4% back, $100-150 6% back, $150+ 8% back. eBay bucks capped at $100 per transaction.

I haven't received an email about this promo yet, but I was doing a check on my saved searches last night and noticed that an auction ending on March 6 was offering 8% back. I checked another item in my watch list and it had the usual 2%. After a few more checks the only dates I found that worked were March 6 and 7. BIN items ending on those dates had normal eBay bucks and I noticed the tiered pricing as I checked different priced auctions. I believe their promos are by invitation. I didn't get one of the recent promos but got the two others. Any of you guys have the same thing happening for these future auctions?

I can't verify, no auctions I'm watching those days at that price yet, though the tiering aligns with 2 of the 3 recent promos. Definitely nothing on BINs. I've received all 3 of the recent promos.

I keep seeing postings about promos. I've *never* received access to any of them.

Me either. But, I did just find that there is a setting for email notifications that permits you to receive news, promotions, etc. from ebay. Mine was sent to "none", so I just changed it and am hoping to receive promotions in the future.

I wonder how Ebay determined who would be eligible. I didn't get the email. I checked some of the items that I have been watching and it only shows 2% in Ebay Bucks for all that I checked. But I just signed up a week or so ago. I had never really paid attention to the program until recently. I wish I had signed up last year as I have spent quite a bit on Ebay in the last several months. Is there a limit on how many bucks you can get for the quarter?

I got the promo also. I'm not sure how they determine who gets invited, but I have two ebay accounts, and only one gets the invites for these promos, and it's the account I use to do all of my buying. So, I think if you spend a certain amount or earn a certain amount of ebay bucks previously, they will more likely invite you. I haven't always gotten invites as I've seen sometimes when others post on the forum that they got a promotion, and I didn't, but I usually get it. I don't think there's a limit, but you really have to spend a lot of money since it's a 2% bonus. I think the most that I received in one quarter was $300-$400 in ebay bucks, which if I didn't receive a ebay multiplier, would mean that I spent nearly $20K in that quarter, which is an enormous sum. (I'm sure I got 4X a few times during that quarter or at least I hope I did.) I tend to buy card supplies during these promotions as most BINs are overpriced, and the promotions usually happen on Thursdays or Fridays when there usually aren't many good auctions that I end. I'll probably buy 2 cases of Card Saver 1's (4000) from Columbia Sports cards for ~$196, so I can get the 4x bonus. I've decided that Card Saver 1's (w/ penny sleeves) are my storage unit of choice for sets rather than albums, top loaders, or raw in a box. This way I can pick up a card and look at it without worrying too much about damaging the card in the process. Top loaders probably offer a bit more protection, but it's harder to remove the card from the top loader after you put it in there. Also the card might sometimes slide out of the top loader if the box you put it in becomes inverted.

I didn't get the email. I guess changing my promotional email settings wasn't the problem. I must need to spend more money on ebay.

I didn't get the promotion this time, but I have in the past. I thought I was receiving it more often because I was using it when it came up. It's a great way to get people to buy when they weren't planning on buying.

So far it's only worked with the 10% one for me. I wish they had one for the days PWCC's golf auctions ended.
