<< <i>One question. What is everybody's thoughts on giving the 3rd place prize to the regular season champion ? I've played in another league the past 5 or 6 years and nothing is worse than having the best team all year long and either getting upset in the 1st round of the playoffs or having young arms get shut down for the last few weeks, causing you to lose. I KNOW, I KNOW, some geniuses have done precise value calculations, to determine what a Stephen Strasburg is worth for 3/4 of the season, but I feel like rewarding the regular season champ with something is good. I'm in regardless of what is decided but that is my 2 cents. 1st and 2nd place are the teams in the playoff championship, and 3rd place to the regular season winner ? Someone could double up in winnings this way, but still worth it to me. >>
Good thought, but ultimately I'll leave that decision to Ethan. I'm down for whatever.

Have done this for my H2H FB leagues for the past 6 years. I'm happy either way.

All signed up and payment has been sent. I'm ready to have you guys kick my butt as I have no idea who to draft, what positions are best to get first, etc., etc.
But I'll get my revenge next year after I take my lumps.

I just noticed the pitchers only need 7 innings minimum per week. Technically you don't need any starters. What do you guys feel about bumping to the 20-inning mark?

Thanks for catching that. We need to at least double that. Is 20 too high of a minimum?
Looks like we have 16 registered now!
I am missing two payments. I'll work on sorting that out before tomorrow.
Also, I'm fine with giving "third place money" to the regular season champ. What if that guy wins the league as well - I mean, me - what if *I* win the regular season and the playoffs? Does third place money default to the third place winner? (i.e. same guy can't win both prizes?)

In that event, I think champ has earned both prizes, as they are separate prizes.

I think 20 innings is very easy. My H2H league the min innings is 40. I would say 25-30 is totally fine.
I am up for whatever the league wants but if there are 16 teams, I would not want only 2 people to win money. So, my vote for payout would be 3rd place prize goes to regular season champ UNLESS, the reg season champ makes it to the finals. If that ends up being the case, then top 3 in the playoffs take the money. I know that adds a little difficulty, but probably not that much, and it assures 3 payouts, as well as the number one regular season team at least winning something.
Just my 2 cents, again, I'm up for league vote or commish just making the decision. Either way, I think this will be fun and I'm excited by the fact that we are even discussing it. Too many leagues are run by people who don't value other peoples input.
Also, it seems like a good bunch of guy's joining this league. I want to use this as a way to get to know my fellow card collectors more. I love some "all in fun" trash talk, but the only thing I would ask is for everyone to be polite and have fun. No making fun, calling someone an idiot, etc, for drafting someone or playing someone you don't deem as worthy. Everyone has different opinions and thoughts, and there is nothing that is set in stone, or it wouldn't be worth playing, i.e anything can happen. Can we use this as an opportunity to trade outside things for players with our fellow collectors? For example, can I trade a Seaver-on-top Cello to cpamike for Clayton Kershaw for the stretch run?

Actually, it looks like it did randomize. The first few guys to sign up were spread out throughout the draft.
I guess I ended up with the "luck of the draw" and got the first pick. (Yay. I hate having the first pick.)
I now have 15/16 payments. I haven't researched who #16 is - please pay up... I'm terribly lazy.
Should I purchase the three BBCE gift cards now? I REALLY like the idea of the gift cards, and it feeds back into this board. The downside is if a sinkhole opens up and swallows BBCE, we're out the money. Would you guys prefer that I wait until after the season?
