23-24 year old boxes at KMart

Hit up a different KMart today and found boxes of 90UD and 91 Fleer Ultra.

2008 is usually the oldest I see, so was a bit shocked. Now 90 Leaf would've been a good find, but in this case I opted to blow $20 on a pair of 2013 Archives FB Blasters.

General Question: if you had $10 to spend would you rather have a full box of junk wax, a discounted blaster, or a 2 packs of 82 Topps (or equivalent)?

I'll share results of blaster rips later.

I'd opt for the 82 packs over the blasters at a 4-1 rate. I have enough junk wax that I don't need anymore from k-mart.

...but I did get a 1984 Topps (baseball) pack from Vons in 1987 for 25 cents. I was pretty happy with that.

I still see these today, with some later packaging added, for around $10 a piece. Actually found a really nice 86 Topps BB wax box for $10 a few years back at Target, took off the added shrink wrap and had a nice vintage product.

  • Wow - that is actually kinda cool - What section of Kmart did they put them in ?

Our local Kmart got fragged and made in to a Lowes years ago. With the choices below - I'd actually do one of those junk wax boxes, simply for the remembering the old stuff mentality, without any stress of expecting too much. Blasters, well I hate, and if two packs of 82's with possibility of a Ripken rook ? Well, if I got the Ripken, myself - it would be very off centered image and wished I had more packs to open.

Late last year a local Kmart in my area had 1990 UD BB boxes. For some reason they had double shrink wrap. The inner one with the UD logo and a clear outer one.
