WARNING FOR OTHERS!! Package stolen from USPS drop box!!

It appears as though I am the victim of a mail theft at one of our local post offices!! I mailed out 3 packages to customers on Saturday, Feb 15th using a local drop box. 2 of the 3 packages got a scan that same day, showed tracking hits throughout the delivery process, and both got delivered on Tuesday, Feb 18th. The third package - nothing. It looks like I never dropped it off, although it was in the drop box with the other two! I think someone on the inside has taken the package! This is just a reminder for everyone to hand all packages to a local clerk and get them scanned in at time of drop off.

With that said, I'd remain patient and see if it surfaces over the weekend.

<< <i>I have had some packages with no tracking updates until date they were delivered, so I would not yet assume it was stolen. Even if you have a clerk scan it, though, that doesn't mean it can't get stolen or lost in transit later. The one package I had disappear on its way to me had great tracking till it reached my local sort facility and then nothing. >>
+1 This just happened with an order I sent to SGC. Tracking didn't show until day package was delivered.
<< <i>Did your package ever wind up arriving, or was it officially "lost"? >>
It was lost. Last update on tracking was late October and then nothing. It is the only package I've had lost on its way to me since I moved to my present address 10 years ago. I'm thinking it was either stolen or the address label got torn off and there was no address in the box. I would recommend always including at least a return address sticker INSIDE the box so that if label gets destroyed somehow, they will at least know where to send the damaged package.

Arizona. (normal is 3 days).
I have also had a package not have the tracking show until the package was delivered. It's possible the worst has happened but don't give up all hope just yet.
Still I think the advice is good. I don't trust the security of drop-off boxes.

Bobby ... I agree with the above. I know the weather has effected many deliveries. I am in a similar situation right now. On 02/10 I sent a package PRIORITY MAIL (2 days) from Long Island to my daughter in Baltimore for Valentines Day. It was scanned here on Long Island and it shows it arrived in Maryland (took 7 days for that to happen). It shows it left the sorting facility that day, but still has not been delivered to my daughter. Let's hope BOTH of our packages arrive soon!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Give it more than a week. Maybe 2.
But thanks for the thoughts of fear at the USPS. They are a good service. Give them credit that they deserve.
Hope it shows up.
Also maybe give details about the item or items so we can look for them?

Bronxville is a very exclusive area in lower Westchester, maybe 12-14 miles North of the city. Bankers, lawyers, and the more.
