(1380-1422) Ecu vieux a' la couronne of the king Charles VI. Mint Limoges (rare mint for this type). Weight 3.99 g. Ref: Duplessy 369B, Ciani 487, Lafaurie 378a. Bought Raw and just graded MS-63 @NGC


This is one that I posted of the sellers photos a couple weeks ago. Here are mine. This one just came back as an MS-61 @ NGC

That Charles VI piece has such a great, round flan!

That's always my first thought. Especially when it looks too good to be true. Even 19th cent. uncs baffle me, because it's not enough for the collector to protect the collection - their kids, grand kids and great-grand kids have to protect them! Or they must enter the hands of a professional dealer at a very early stage.
