I wonder why more celebrities don't do this? Why go through a middle man (promoter) when you can sell direct to the customer?

Seriously, that would be a good idea. Charge what you want, don't deal with promoters?

I don't see a down side. I think it will catch on with other celebs over time.

I bet Hulk is doing just fine. He's got his own shop, why not sell his auto through it direct?

Ultimately, I can't hate on someone whose signature has value. I'm pretty awesome but mine isn't worth jack.

Hopefully he lowers his asking price if he does it again. $700+ is a little steep IMO.

He probably saw how some of the high grade cards went and figured a signed one should go for a similar amount.......fully knowing the value of his items but not really getting the value of graded cards......

He may have got the idea from the Soup Nazi who was selling his signed photos on eBay some time ago.
  • I think it's pretty cool as well. I really don't think he's broke. Divorce or not he can't be broke. I stopped typing and read around for a half an hour.

I bet Dpeck can answer more on his net worth, but after a bunch of reading looks to be 5 million dollars. He still gets paid money from merchandise, his store, wrestling games, appearances, autograph sessions, video games etc. He's building back up after being worth about 28-32 million before the divorce of which his ex wife got 70%. Lots of attorney fees, his sons accident. Brooke his daughter is worth 6 million and son about 500,000. His ex is worth 20 million.

I think he is doing fine, and would think it will grow back up. I don't know what wrestling organization he's with now, I don't watch, but he was making a million a year for that before this past late fall.

    Dpeck? Anyone else?

  • I grew up with Hogan, Macho, Ultimate Warrior in the 80's. Love these guys.

It's hard to believe how old they've gotten though, Hogan is 60. Flair 64. Piper is almost 60. Doesn't seem real.

Hulk got nailed big time with the auto accident his son was involved in. Add on a divorce and it adds up fast.

It is no secret that he was down and out money wise but after the past few years I think he was able to rebuild his net worth some.

The WWE is getting ready to launch the WWE Network and the word is he will be involved in Wrestlemania 30 so he will be getting some strong revenue streams from this.

I don't care what these guys do. If any one of us is perfect then throw some stones. Many of these wrestlers lived lives that are unheard of and had rock star status no matter where then went.

Hogan is the most well known wrestler of all time and he will find a way financially no matter what. There are parts of his career that are super cheesy but there are so many others where he drew huge money so I give Hogan the benefit of the doubt. When you can be the greatest good guy and arguably the greatest bad guy of all time you deserve some credit.

I think we are all living in a dream world when it comes to autos. Michael Jordan hooked up with Upper Deck and charges a ton. Hogan took another route. Wrestling fans in general are not rich and never were. Selling your own autos is a smart business move. It is easy for all of us that every time we sign our names has no value to be critical. I get why these guys want the money because the market place demands their autographs and money talks.

  • Hogan is still juicing, hormone replacement therapy what're you call it. But looks to be in pretty darn good shape at that age.

Hard to believe the first time I saw Flair he was 28 years old. Flair, Masked Superstar, Steamboat. Later Piper, Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Rich, Sawyer etc, etc, etc. Miss that whole era.

In what is usually a tough crowd, I can't believe the Hulkster gets a free pass on his overgrading.

"When you can be the greatest good guy and arguably the greatest bad guy of all time you deserve some credit"....Copied from Dpeck

What a great statement, so true. Still, I would take more of the Henry Ford idea. that is I would prefer sell 10 at $70 than 1 at $700. But as has been stated here, he has done a lot of things right over the years. Go get 'em!

Hogan was set to do a signing a month or so back at the Hogan's Beach Shop but it was shut down due to problems with the buildings architecture. The cost was $65 an auto I believe. When I drove over to the grand opening a few years ago he was charging $50 per auto for additional ones. The only items that were listed as additional on the recent flier were belts as that is one of the wrestling items that does actually increase in value with the signature. There was no mention of the All Stars card but who knows once he sees it in person he might say it's more. When I had mine signed I could tell he thought I was there as a profiteer. I wasn't I still have them all. I saw pics from his line at the last National and it was jam packed and he was charging like $130 an auto. Personally I hope that Hulk can get back in the WWE. Wrestling isn't wrestling without Hulk Hogan.

No need for doing signings now after winning $100+ million. lol I mean, let's be honest, most celebrities/athletes do it because they need/want money, and he certainly won't need money for awhile.
  • How much is it for having Brooke affix me in a scissor-lock head hold?
