Considering a board member just sold me a PSA 8 Dick Allen at average VCP of $164, I was shocked to see it hit the $300 level. A few of the low pops were off the charts.
1971 Topps Nolan Ryan PSA 8 - $1025.00 VCP $419.37
1971 Topps Brooks Robinson PSA 8 - $1100.00 VCP $383

Certainly take some analytics from those sales. I ended up with 5 of them, one 8, others 8.5, and one 9, Palmer. Won F Robinson 8. 5 (pop2; go figure only sold for 10% over VCP) and three others.
With the R. Jackson; Pop 135, relatively low for the 8's in that year. Only three bidders after $451 (not counting u**r, professional retractavist). Maybe l**l thinks the card is an 8.5? Who knows. Didn't look like an 8 to make an aggressive run at.
The Ryan; only two bidders after $475.00, and this card sells about twice a month. And....u**r wins with 28 retractions. Another card that didn't really POP to me. But with a POP report of 500, the final sale of $1,025.00 may be the high for several years. Over double VCP, on a card that sells twice a month with a POP report over 500. I hope I'm wrong. Then again, we all thought google was expensive at 500.
Yaz/Clemente goes way over VCP to u**r again. Only 3 bidders on Clemente after the $705 mark, but another card double VCP.
These were the only cards I felt bidding on. As noted previously, unless the commons are bundled, I'm usually not a buyer, and the other stars didn't look appealing, IMHO.

Nice pick ups! The Palmer looks lika a 10.

The three high bidders all had perfect feedback and no retractions. -------.u**r on the other hand has 28 retractions.
