1969 Topps Vada Pinson PSA 9

Hey guys,

I need a little help on pricing a card, a 1969 Topps #160 Vada Pinson PSA 9. I just got it back from PSA. It's very well centered and has great color. It is a 1 of 27 (zero 10's). I have noticed cards from 1969 (PSA 9's) going for crazy prices on completed listings. Some going from $200-$400 based pop report. There were no examples of this card on ebay or completed listings. I put it on there for $350 BIN. That may be a crazy price but I didn't want to sell myself short. Feedback welcome...

From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

Recent history suggests $35-50 is more realistic...

Thanks guys. I was only about $300 off, lol. To be honest, that's kind of what I thought it was worth ($50) when I got it back from PSA. But then I seen cards like #286 Doc Ellis PSA 9 (Pop 20 and zero 10's) sold for $335 on 1/23/14 (auction), and other similar type PSA 9's sell for big money, I thought the Pinson was maybe more than what I thought. Its kind of a head scratcher when you look at some of these completed listing prices..

    SMR says $35.

SMR also says $35 for a 1969 PSA 9 Joe Niekro, Steve Hamilton, Tommy Helms, Mike Ferraro, Jim Davenport, and Mike Shannon. Meaning it is 100% totally useless.

Oh no! 7 cards from a set of hundreds have the same price?? Well then it's obviously horse poo, especially since it matched the same price range as others' research on this same thread.

Dan ... SMR is WAY off on many cards. Although not a bible, VCP, IMO, is a much more accurate guide when pricing cards.

I use Beckett for raw, still struggling to find the right guide for graded. You mentioned once that VCP is $15. Is that monthly? Yearly?

SMR, for many cards, is about as far off as you can get from the "market" price. The cards he mentioned are quite expensive in PSA 9 (From VCP):

    43 Joe Niekro $778.88
    69 Steve Hamilton $337.00
    70 Tommy Helms $149.00
    83 Mike Ferraro $315.64
    102 Jim Davenport $237.84
    110 Mike Shannon $374.00
