Question Regarding High End Submission to PSA

Hi guys...I haven't submitted anything in years. Anyways, I renewed my membership and am submitting a high-end Babe Ruth auto for a friend. I'm clear on the service level, fees and return process, my question is regarding sending the submission to PSA. I remember sending submissions to PSA via USPS Registered Mail which had many requirements (like special tape on the box, etc.). Is Registered Mail still required? Is this the best way to send a submission? I noticed PSA has a PO Box; does this limit the available methods (ie. delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, etc.). In the end, I'm going to insure it for $4,500, so maybe the delivery method dosen't matter? What do you recommend for a $4k submission? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd go with Registered Mail. It's probably the most secure way to go. As I understand it is always under lock and key(?) and each recipient has to sign for it. Yes, wrapping it up is kind of a pain. You have to use paper tape so the post office can use the "registered" stamp all over the package. But, for a $4500 submission, it's worth the extra effort.

You don't have to use Registered but as long as you are not in a hurry (and if you are in a hurry, you should probably do some searches on the time it takes them to even log a package once its received) registered is great as it's relatively safe and secure and insurance is bargain priced compared to regular USPS. No real issues packing it either, just use the brown paper tape over all the seams.

If it's a flat item, USPS Express mail is quick and affordable if it fits in the flat rate envelope, and insurance on it is a bargain compared to USPS's regular insurance rates.
