One of the original Angels back in the sixties. Always liked him. Yikes I'm getting old.

Like SidePocket, I too always liked him. Sad day for baseball ... only 71 years old. RIP Jim.

That being said, he was always a thorn in the side of NY METS fans because of the below:

California Angels - what has to be one of the most lopsided trades ever, the Angels literally stole Nolan Ryan from the Mets who in fairness were stocked with good pitching at the time. The Angels scarfed up 4 players for veteran shortstop Jim Fregosi, whose best years were behind him. Ryan went on to become one of the more remarkable players in the history of the game.

    ANGELS GET:
    Nolan Ryan, P
    Don Rose, P
    Francisco Estrada, C
    Leroy Stanton, OF

    New York Mets GET:
    Jim Fregosi, ss
    STAY HEALTHY!

    Doug

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
