Some questions for the Pros

Good morning

So with the recent pickup of the 52T Mantle, I am trying to focus on the iconic HOF's and picking up their top cards, whether it's a true rookie card or not. In everyone's opinions, what would be the most desirable and in demand card for each of these icons...?

Lou Gherig
Joe Dimaggio
Babe Ruth
Ted Williams
Stan Musial
Ty Cobb
Joe Jackson

I should clarify that I don't want a card that's super rare and hard to find might be considered more desirable and in demand, but I am just looking for a super cool card of each that represent the player and hobby well....thanks!

Stan is easy...the 1948 Bowman Musial is the one to own. True rookie, classic black and white photo of a teenaged Musial.

    Just my opinion

Lou Gherig - 36 Goudey / World Wide Gum
    Joe DiMaggio - 1948 Leaf
Babe Ruth - 1921 Pathe Freres
    Ted Williams - 1941 Playball
    Stan Musial - 1953 Bowman
    Ty Cobb - T206 Green
Joe Jackson - never liked any of his cards; maybe W519

Stan was 27/28 years old in 1948. Definitely a classic card.

For the Ted Williams, his 1939 play ball is the one to get.........rookie card.......nice classic.

It might not be considered a rookie card for Stan Musial, but the Cuban-issued 1946-47 Sensacion Premiums is kind of neat-looking even though it is thin newspaper stock paper. SGC grades them but they are too big to fit in PSA holders.

Here is an old thread that discusses all the Musial issues that were before 1948.

    I'd go with the following:

    Lou Gehrig - 1934 Goudey #37
    Joe Dimaggio - 1941 Playball
Babe Ruth - 1921 E121 Series of 80 (his first card as a Yankee - but pictures him with the Red Sox)
    Ted Williams - 1954 Bowman
    Stan Musial - 1952 Bowman
Ty Cobb - T3 Turkey Red
Joe Jackson - 1915 Cracker Jack
