1979 1980 topps football wax rack packs

ok i need some help here from the knowledge of the boards.
Im wanting to buy some 1979 topps football wax rack packs from a seller. But I know that in 1980 topps put 80 football in 79 wrappers. so my question is if the wax rack pack has 79 wrappers in it, how do you know if its 1979 or 1980 inside.
Any help would be appreciated.

This a great topic - I see eBay sellers selling these all the time as 79 Racks. I've also seen feedback where buyers complained there were 1980 cards in there instead of 79. I've owned a lot of these racks in the past and they have ALWAYS been 1980 cards…never 1979. I question whether or not Topps ever distributed 1979 cards in the "grocery wax rack" form. I don't think they did??? Thus drawing the safe conclusion that ANY of those are going to be 1980 cards. The real scary thought is that the individual packs can be removed from the grocery rack and then it would be impossible to know if the packs were 79 or 80 cards.

I actually opened one of these a few months back. The outside rack wrapper had a 1980 Topps product code on it, so you can always check the code to see if it's 1980 or 1979.
