The one on the left has a great shot, imo. PSA prefers cards centered a bit high vs a bit low.

That's what I was thinking! You would think the 9 would command more.
Tried checking the pop report but PSA is down again image

Wow, congrats. Assuming the other was a 9, did the left one turn out 10 or was the board wrong and it was the right?

an area of concern I've seen on this card over the years is slight wear that is evident on the back corners that show up on the orange, but not showing on the obverse; fyi only

Seems like this card is generally centered a bit high...but not sure PSA judges the t/b centering in a truly strict manner.

    Good luck on your sub!

  • Interesting note on cards like this (that have 3 measurable borders, and not really on the bottom).

I measure the side borders (let's say they are 4 mm each) to make sure the side to side is perfect. Once I do that, I look for cards that have a top border thickness to be the same as the sides to consider them "centered" imo.

Favre s 1991 upper deck rookie is like this....just how a lowlife like me views it.

    Nice card, congrats!

    Yes, does look interesting.

I have around 75 of these Schmidt 1980 cards with centering all over the place...

Now that I look at it again, they do look sharp.
Hard to tell on this copy though.
The bottom edge looks a little rough from the backside pic
