1933 Foxx.... PSA rules question

1933 Uncle Jack's Candy Jimmy Foxx. The holes are a real bummer of course, but it cost me only $5 at a yard sale. What are the chances of getting this slabbed as a PSA 1? Will they not grade it because of the holes?

<< <i>Dan ... after doing a little research on the card, i wonder if it is a reprint? If you look the set up on this site, PSA describes the set as not only having a blank back, but states that the front of the card depicts the player with a BLUE HUE background. You may want to verify this before spending money on grading. GOOD LUCK. >>
My research (Beckett and SCD) said that there were 2 series: 1 blue, ! red. i don't know if it was an AL/NL thing. Can others please chime in on this please?

And I don't know if Net54 is a reliable source, but this thread shows a blue Foxx and says the cards came in red and green too

I just looked at THE BIBLE (Bob Lemke's Book) and here is what I found:
Even more good news ... next to the Babe Ruth card, FOXX is listed as the most expensive.

<< <i>Dan ... good to hear. I was in NYC the entire day with my daughter and just got home. (I responded to you before from my phone.)

Yeah, Lemke's book was the one a card shop owner used to help me identify the card after I first bought it. I will get it slabbed, but just double checking: the consensus is that it wouldn't get an actual grade, right?

<< <i>My guess is that they will not give it a numerical grade. >>
But still worth having slabbed/authenticated? I'm brand new to this, so trying to understand what's the right course. Beckett "high column" price is around $700. Obviously with the holes it's worth almost nothing. But is it relatively more valuable/sellable once authenticated?

First of all, I think that number is WAY low ... a 5.5 sold for over four grand back in '09. Lemke's book has over a $4,500.00 number on the card (of course that is in high grade).
I don't know a lot about the set, but from the little I have researched today, I think it is a rare card. One thing the slab will do is alleviate the fear from MOST people that the card is a reprint.
If you think it's worth almost nothing, I'll give you FIVE TIMES what you paid for it!

Haha no dice. Yeah, when I first read about the set I got the impression not alot were printed, plus it was a regional New England-only distribution. You've talked me into a slab. Is there a separate process for authentication only vs the grading process I've already done?

<< <i>I believe on the submission form you can indicate that if it does not get a grade you are OK with them slabbing it as authentic. Just give them a call and they will tell you exactly how to word it. The girls in the customer service dept are GREAT! >>
Yeah I'll have to call. I looked through my paperwork and it looks like it's up to them whether they slab it authentic. But I'll call and ask whether there's a way to indicate that's what I'm shooting for
