What other collectables do you collect you wish Psa graded?

I've recently started collecting vintage Star Wars and gi-joe unopened and qualified popped tape mint toys. I also am learning more about vintage comic book key issues a bit. I plan to collect those in the future once I have a better pulse on the market and feel more confident about my knowledge in comic books. It to me over 30 years to build my humble collection I have in my eBay store popculture401k of Psa graded vintage unopened wax packs one of my favorite things on the planet to collect. Those and Psa graded vintage gum card sets. It all started with the second series 1985 topps garbage pail kids wax packs I purchased as 10 year old lad. It's what started my addiction haha I mean hobby into gum cards of the non sport type. Please chime in with what you would collect or do already collect if Psa graded that COLLECTABLE. Perhaps in the future we will see Psa grading unopened toys and comics and other collectables that they do not as of today grade yet.

  • BOXES!! GAI is rated FFF to power of 100!!! It would be great if they did boxes, empty/full boxes! No way will I send my 1967 Leaf Star Trek empty box to GAI. I'd sooner rip it apart and use it for toilet paper. That being said, I will purchase an item that is already graded by GAI. But no way will I take the chance of sending anything to them. It only makes sense PSA would do this. Card, pack...........box! Come on PSA!! image

Also, I wish they would do the same as BGS and/or BGS/JSA, and that is number grade the card AND the auto!

If you want, you can see the box on my link below.

That is a spectacular display box. It's one of the top 5 display boxes on my want list. If you got it from where I think you did the box has a repair I believe right? If that's the case gai will not grade a display box with any repairs. I had a chance to buy an attack from space. The mars attacks penny prototype display box. That display box had issues and I was told by gai as is or with repairs that box would not be graded if I submitted it.
As for Psa numbering the card and the auto with separate grades I'd ask Psa why they prefer to not do it that way. Psa is the worlds largest grading company and has an expert Psa/DNA department. I'm sure they can answer your question.

  • I collect hand made antique marbles. It would help protect them if I could get them graded.

Yes, its from your neck of the woods! And yes, in the pics I have, you can see the internal tab was reattached. However, CGC is a great example of superior grading technique! They have a "restored" grade, plus, one can buy the grader notes. So if GAI wanted to, they good do the same thing. For example, "GAI 8 Restored-internal tab reattached", not that complicated. For a box this rare, just having it reattached, and not even torn/ripped, is not a big deal. Oh well, maybe someday, somebody will start boxes other than GAI. I already asked PSA on why they don't have a card and auto number grade. The explanation wasn't clear. The answer just explained what they do, grade an auto, or just the card, not why both, so I gave up. No big deal. Actually, I plan on writing AFA, and asking them to get into boxes, they already grade and holder items much bigger. image
  • 45's. I've got tons of them and at this point I listen to CD's or MP3's or whatever. Oh heck, it would just be something else to take my money...

I'm not very knowledgable in 45s or hand made glass marbles. I think both could be better preserved and kept safe at he very least if they were SLABBED. I think it's a fantastic idea to collect gum cards and other collectables as well.

I'm pretty sure AFA will let you get your 1967 leaf Star Trek display box encapsulated. I'm not sure they would put a numerical grade on it.

I need to be with careful with collecting vintage comics and vintage toys. I already have a gum card addiction. Some people say gum cards are a gateway drug to toys and comic book addiction. Haha. My fiancé teases me about doing an intervention on my gum card hobby. Haha. She's silly. She should be more concerned with the 10 AFA graded star wars spaceships in our living room and bedroom. Haha.

Ps I knew she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with after the first time I took to Psa and we got like 50 60s wax packs graded and she was fascinated and on the edge of her seat waiting the couple months for the grades to pop as I was. No lol. For realz.

I was at an antique store last week and someone had a Playboy magazine graded and encapsulated. I thought it was the dumbest thing. Doesn't encapsulating a playboy so that you can never open it again defeat the purpose of owning it?
