Need help from 1975 Topps Grading Experts (SCAN HEAVY)

I recently purchased one of the nicest raw '75 Topps sets I've come across. I pulled around 70 commons (w/ a few stars) that looked really sharp to me. However, thanks to my last few submissions I'm losing faith in my own ability to pre-grade cards from the 70s. I can post scans here or I can email links, but i'd love to get some second opinions on these. I'm only interested in subbing cards that have a strong chance of pulling a 9. Let me know if anyone has time or interest in taking a look.
Thanks for your help!

<< <i>Scan and post away. We'll be happy to give our 2 cents. Make sure you loupe the corners. Any card missing color on a corner under 10x magnification likely won't get a 9. >>
Thanks for the responses guys. This is something I was wondering about. So you basically can't have any color missing on the corners (even if they're sharp) and still pull a 9?

Impossible to say without scans

I wouldn't say "can't". "Unlikely" would be a better word. I have seen '75 PSA 9s with a small chip out of the corner, particularly on rough cuts. It's gotta be a really tiny loss of the color though. I think there's a bit more leeway on corners with lighter colors like yellow vs dark colors like red where the chip will stand out more prominently. For perspective, I owned 6 vending fresh 1975 regular issue sets about a decade ago and graded all the star cards. I can count the number of 9s I got on two hands from those 6 sets. These were literally build from vending boxes and sold to me. I sorted the sets from best to worst of each card, kept the best and sold off the 5 other sets. Wish I would have kept sets 2 and 3 though. From that #1 set, I've graded 2/3 of the set and my GPA is only 8.30.

First step would be to remove any that have fisheyes in them. Then also remove the ones with uneven borders and tilts.
That should cut down the group some so you can focus on the real contenders.
The Kaline and Steve Carlton look closer to 8.
The Moose, Lagrow, Leon and Thomasson are pretty tough in 9 and they are all nice so I'd send those in.
As for the rest of the commons, I'd also get rid of those with print dots and less than perfect centering, which would leave you with another 8-10 to send in.
These are real nice. Who knows PSA Might even throw you a 10
Good luck
Overall a very nice group of cards.

The big scans help me when grading too - but 75 white tips are tough for 9's. Has to be perfect otherwise to get away with a white tip.

Gemint - the snow on the Kaline HL is a dirty scanner. But it's tough to tell in the picture I posted.

I would definitely send in Killebrew, too--is bottom right corner touched or is that the scan?

Good luck with the grades. I think you will do well on some of these for sure.

i wouldnt send the tilts - the others would make for and exciting pending sub - i'd check pop report though to make sure upside is worth the gamble on fees -
Moret - tilt
Kaline HL - top left corner - 8
Russel - tilt
Clyde - centering and fish eye left edge
Bell - T/B
Parker - tilt
Forsch - tilt
Dierker - tilt
Horton - tilt
Hederson - T/B
Fisk - nice card - little print noise on the RED
Sprague - fish eye left edge - tilt
Egan - T/B
Foster - 8 (i think)maybe 9 if that's 60/40 or better - a little blip in the scan
Wood - sharp card - shot at 9 or 10 if you wrap it in a 100 dollar bill
Mayberry - tilt
Maddox - slight O/C
Hardy - tilt and top left corner
Neikro - silght tilt - both eges on pink borders have some chipping - bottom left corner - nice looking card though
LaGrow - some noise over the pitcher logo - nice looking card though - they may give the ST qulaifier on an 8 or 9
Carlton - tilt
Reynolds - fish eye under "O" not bad though
1969 MVP - tilt
1951 MVP - 8
Foote - sharp card - maybe the corners are an issue - but could be scanner - slight touch on top edge - worth a shot at 9
Grich - tilt and rough cut
Cabell - pushing the 60/40 limit - color registration looks off
Cardinals - send itshot at 9
Office - Tilt
Hassler - tilt

D'Acquisto - i know its 60/40ish or more but i have a 9 with the same bottom left swirl and centering - 8 or better
Rettenmund - tilt
York - top right corner and PD above the "S" -
Curtis - is that a crease from is left knee to the edge of card? shap otherwise
Pattin - i know you are tempted but i have two of those exact and they came back 7 and 8 - my guess is that graders are sensitive about the registration - can be heavy at times...
