No team from the old AFL that won a Super Bowl as an AFL team has ever returned to the Super Bowl...

This is the first Super Bowl, since the merger, that has two AFC (or former AFC) teams playing each other...

If the Broncos win, Eli and Peyton Manning will have won their second NFL Championships on the other's home field (Eli won XLVI at Indy while Peyton was a Colt and Peyton can win at MetLife while his brother is a Giant)...

Americans will consume more than 1.25 BILLION chicken wings and more than 70 million avocados on Super Bowl Sunday - that's a lot of dead chickens (more than 310 million chickens assuming 4 wing parts to each chicken - nearly one dead chicken for every American) and a lake full of guacamole!

Usually on a really good day like this afternoon, I'm good for 25 wings or more..how many dead chickens is that? Not much of a guacamole fan, but that's very impressive

Got the chili for the chili dogs simmering. Picked out a handful of my favorite craft beers. Wrote some letters to former Milwaukee Brewers requesting cards to be signed. So far it's been a pretty productive day and the game doesn't start for another two hours.

I find it most fascinating that in all the now 48 SB's, not once has there been a shutout or an overtime. Though (in the case of forcing OT) that go-go-gadget arm guy from the Titans in the 1999 SB sure tried!
