By the time the coins get there, the new holders should be active..... Long Beach, right? That's literally just a couple of days away.... >>
Just make sure they are going to use the new holders and discontinue the old ones before you submit. You don't want to get stuck with old holders that are still being used until the old stock runs out.

I think I would agree as well. If they are solid for the grade, try for CAC. The older holders, particularly if they aren't solid upgrade material, will likely be worth more as well. Also, people may be under the perception that they are undergraded in the older holders, even if not, and the value may be higher there.
The CAC sticker on old rattlers will add alot over the current market price. Just search ebay on "PCGS CAC" and see what comes up. PCGS CAC ebay search
A lot of good advice here---keep the rattler slabs (they don't make them any more) and submit them to CAC.

Thanks Erik. I consider myself an advance collector. My collections are well into the 6 figures. I am just in the dark on CAC and out of circulation on US coins for decades. You mean I can just submit them without joining anything. I am a member of the other side just not PCGS.

You would have to submit some paperwork to CAC and wait in line on a waiting list...it took 6 months for me to get accepted. By advanced collector, I meant someone who had already been accepted. I will help you if you need, I plan on sending in about 30 coins in the next week or two. PM me if interested. You would only pay what they charge as I would never ask for 1 penny extra

...I would find an advanced collector to submit them for you vs. a dealer as you will only pay for each coin that receives a sticker
