eBay now assisting pack re-sealers ??

When you try to email this seller concerning this auction, you immediately get a unsolicited message back from the seller stating they do not discuss how they know there is an auto in the pack. When you try to bypass this message and send a email to the seller, ebay comes back and says sorry, you cannot email the seller. What a gimmick !!!

Any seller can block people from sending them questions.

You consider them to be a pack re-sealer, but apparently ebay and the vast majority of their buyers do not.
  • If you buy one, could you come back and say to the seller that there was no auto/jersey/etc.? Would any be dumb enough to say they know there's one in the pack because they put it there? image

Do you think the pack is really resealed? I don't know a lot about modern cards, but aren't some of the modern autographed cards thicker than the non-auto ones? If that is the case, they are probably guaranteeing it based on weight of the pack.

  • Doubtful this is resealed. There are scumbag's out there that feel packs up to find the auto/jersey cards. I've been told there's a way to do it and I've seen many do it. I usually confront them and at the very least make sure they know it's not cool.

I don't buy from these guys because they are one of the biggest problems in the hobby. The companies know they're doing this. The big box stores do too. They don't really care because they don't lose money on packs they don't sell. So they could care less.

There's not really a way to stop these guys because only collectors care. Ebay doesn't care and neither do the stores. However, next time you see someone in public doing it, say something and say it loud. Just my 2 cents.

    << <i>The companies know they're doing this >>

I realize I may be getting a bit OT here, but isn't this the reason some card companies are putting "dummy" cards into packs? I opened a pack of modern football a while back and one of the cards was of the thicker cardstock variety (such as what would be used for a jersey card) but the card was blank! Plain white card, nothing on either side. I did some research online and it appears this is why. Felt like a bit of a ripoff, really.

I do a little modern day football card selling and the auto cards are only slightly heavier than other cards. I think weighing the packs would be inconsistent. JMO

I don't know about this brand. I stick to football cards. It seems like it might be a company that guarantees an auto card in every pack, but most of them are guys who's autograph won't be worth much. In the football card packs I often come across autographs of guys who were training camp fodder and if I try to put them up on eBay their mother wouldn't even bid on .99 cent price.

Just saw where this guy lives about 25 miles from me. I know almost all the card dealers around here in one way or another, but have never heard of anyone in his area. Makes me wonder who it is now

I reported this auction to eBay, but they did not cancel it and the pack wound up selling for $43
