Really kicking myself...

Today was the day of our monthly local show here in town and I was all ready, prepped, and prepared to set up. Then last night on the news they said it was going to be horrible this morning with 2-4 additional inches, temps well below zero, and 50 mph winds. They said don't get out and travel unless you have to. So, I called the promoter and said I couldn't be there (we have horrible hills by us that make it extremely hard to travel when the weather is bad). He was kind enough to let me off the hook about paying my fee. So I don't set my alarm and sleep in today. I get up at 8 (when the show starts) AND THE ROADS ARE TOTALLY FINE!!! Even went and got some breakfast (on all the hills) AND THEY WERE FINE. UGH!

This is what I get for not setting my alarm and getting up to check.

Sorry for the rant...

Please don't start taking shots at meteorologists. Weather forecasting isn't an exact science, nor will it ever be. That doesn't mean the people using numerical models and observations to make a prediction don't know what the are doing.

For the record, I'm a research meteorologist at the University of Oklahoma.

I don't know the reference, so I will assume it isn't nice.

Just an FYI...my original post was not to be taken as a slight against anyone in your field. Just a rant that I was mad at myself. I get that what you do is important.

You've never heard of Rodney Dangerfield??

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • Rodney checked the weather before pulling off the Triple Lindey. Clearly, this post was a compliment to your field.
  • Now that is funny. Somewhere up high. Rodney is grabbing his tie and giving it the " No respect! No respect! Thats all I get is No respect." No disrespect, KWTOZ,but what makes this funny is that the No Respect line was Dangerfields trademark and you didn't get the reference. If you ever want to watch Rodney at his finest, watch Caddyshack.

I am not a movie person, so I have no idea what you are referring too.
