New Pre-War Additions - Added E96 Nap Lajoie - 03/22/14

This time last year I changed my collecting focus to pre-war cards.......specifically building a T206 set in 3/4 condition. Centered and crease free. I am up to 48/524. Here are some of my additions from the last few months:

Picked this Willis (HOF) up this week.

Another HOF:

A great friend of mine bought this Chance for me.

Love this Evers.

Got the Matty at the National in Chicago.

And here is one of my favorite pick-ups. This is a D304 Brunners Bread Hal Chase. The front is just superb but has staining on the back. Just a really cool card and set.

    Congrats on the new additions!!!

I remember seeing that Matty last year. Looking forward to finding some more, but next time remember to mark image where in the convention center we see stuff.

Man, you are becoming quite the pre-war collector, Mark! Very sharp additions! Maybe Mike can find me a 1909 Piedmnont rack rack!

Unfortunately they didn't sell them by the carton back then. Only way to fit one of those rack packs in there. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see someone read this and think it sounds like a good idea. It works for the Christmas racks.

We ought to patent that, quick! It could be our version of the grocery cello or xmas rack! image

Now that's a top tier HOFer! Nicely done, Mark!

Next is Cobb with bat off shoulder with green back?

(Eric, I tried to remember, lol..)

Thanks guys. They don't call it "The Monster" for no reason.....LOL.

Tim, I may try and hunt down one of the Cobb's at the National this year. Probably the bat off shoulder. It is my favorite Cobb.

Got this E96 Nap Lajoie in the mail today. Love the color and centering. Has some paper missing from the back which causes the low grade (looks to have been in a scrap book probably).
