Honestly, that's what I thought. I wasn't going to spend crazy to get it but I was willing to go to a max of $1200 just because I really liked eye appeal of the coin.
The coin is common, the pop reports show 25 graded at NGC with fifteen grading 65 or better including a few proof likes. PCGS shows 14 graded with seven going 65 or better.
What I'll call the "sister coin" to the one I bought (same submission, grade, date, mint & roughly the same eye appeal) was battled over in an auction a few years prior and went for a good sum.
I guess its just a matter of "any given day" and who wants what and what they will pay. I'm happy with the coin and the price so it's a win/win.
